HYTAC-Rx

HYTAC B1X Easily Machined Plug Assist MaterialHYTAC-Rx was specifically developed to meet the unique needs of the pharmaceutical blister packaging market.  HYTAC-Rx materials are listed in Drug Master File (DMF) 21370 by the FDA and are entirely food contact grade.

HYTAC-Rx is available in both a high and low stick formulations to optimize uniform material distribution and improve barrier performance.  These variations provide the manufacturer with greater control over the thermoforming process and often result in substantial cost savings through down-gauging of film thickness.

While syntactic foam materials have long been used to fabricate plug assists in the thin gauge thermoforming industry, the HYTAC-Rx Series is the first and only material developed for pharmaceutical blister package tooling.

While either may be used, low stick HYTAC-Rx-L1 is generally specified for use with CPET, EVOH or HIPS.  High stick HYTAC-Rx-H1 is generally recommended for use with any other pharmaceutical packaging materials.
